If you have little kids, you probably include a trip to the lost property box as part of your daily routine. Hand knitted hats are such a shame to lose, so I decided my boys needed hats that stay on!

The ribbed base keeps little necks warm, and prevents the hat from easily being discarded and forgotten about. This ear-snuggling hoodie is worked in the round for the base, and then flat for the head, which is sewn or grafted across the top, and finally a folded cuff edge knitted around the face opening.
